The shopping mall manager’s expression changed drastically, shifting into anger as he pointed at Xiang Feng. "Kid, you’ve killed a man, and you will be held fully responsible for this! Security, call the police! Call them right now—"
"Xiao Feng..."
Liu Ruyun’s face was etched with worry. After all, a life had been lost, and the little girl beside the body was sobbing uncontrollably, calling out for her grandfather.
Only Xiang Feng remained as unmoved as Mount Tai. He withdrew the silver needle slightly and flicked it with his finger.
*Ding!*
A sharp, crisp sound rang out like a magical chime. The old man, who had stopped breathing, suddenly opened his eyes.
"Is... is this a resurrection?" The manager was startled.
"Young man, thank you."
"You’re welcome. It is a doctor’s duty. However, you must be careful with your diet from now on—avoid greasy and spicy foods."
Xiang Feng retracted the silver needle, which was stained with a trace of blood. After wiping it clean, he put it away.
"He... he didn't die?" The manager looked from the old man to Xiang Feng, his expression growing slightly awkward.
"Hmph! You’re the one who died! My grandpa was just sick, and the big brother cured him!" The little girl glared at the manager, clearly displeased.
"If he's fine, then hurry up and leave! Why go out shopping if you’re sick? You’ve got me all terrified for nothing," the manager muttered before walking away while cursing.
The little girl wanted to argue, but the old man stopped her.
"Young man, might I ask your name? If it’s convenient, I would like to invite you to a meal to show my gratitude for saving my life." The old man, appearing like a scholar, bowed to Xiang Feng with a smile.
"No need, it was just a small effort." Xiang Feng waved his hand, pulled Liu Ruyun along, and muttered, "I still have to take my wife shopping."
"Eh..." Dong Guowen froze. Watching their retreating figures, he finally let out a light laugh.
He, Dong Guowen, had lost count of how many people had fawned over him. Some had even offered a hundred million just to have a meal with him, all of which he had refused. Today, he had proactively invited someone to dinner, only to be turned down. How interesting.
"Let’s go, Xiaowu. We’re going home. And remember, don't tell your parents that I fell ill, understood?"
"I know, Grandpa. But I want ice cream."
"You little rascal."
As the grandfather and granddaughter left, Xiang Feng continued to stroll through the mall with his beautiful wife. However, Xiang Feng didn't buy a single piece of clothing; it was too expensive, and he couldn't bear the cost—mostly because he had no money!
"Xiao Feng, what illness did that old man have? It looked so dangerous." Liu Ruyun had no interest in shopping anymore; her mind was full of the image of Xiang Feng saving the man.
He had been focused, serious, and meticulous. Truly, a man at work is the most charming! But it had also been incredibly dangerous. Liu Ruyun was deeply worried—if he had actually let the man die, he would have ended up in prison. Wouldn't that mean she would be a "living widow" on her very first day of marriage?
"Of course it was dangerous. It was a cerebral congestion. If we had been a few minutes later, the blood vessels would have ruptured, making it even more life-threatening. The rescue would have been higher risk, and the treatment would have been more complicated, requiring medication."
"Cerebral congestion? Isn't that a cerebral hemorrhage?" Liu Ruyun asked, her heart tensing again. She had heard of many people suffering from cerebral hemorrhages in recent years. It could be treated, but the survival rate wasn't high. Especially for the elderly, whose recovery ability was poor, the risk of death was even greater. Even if they survived, they often suffered from hemiplegia and unpredictable aftereffects.
Yet, Xiang Feng had seemed so relaxed. The entire rescue had taken less than half an hour, and the man was cured. Was he really a divine doctor?
"Cerebral congestion is the precursor to a cerebral hemorrhage; it is one of the causes," Xiang Feng explained patiently. "It is mostly caused by high blood pressure. When the body's blood surges into the brain and the vessels can't handle the pressure, they burst instantly—that’s a cerebral hemorrhage, which just means bleeding in the brain."
"As people age, their blood vessels gradually become brittle. Over the years, impurities build up in the blood, blocking the vessels and preventing normal flow. It's like a water pipe—if it's blocked but the pressure remains, the end result is that it goes 'pop' and bursts, and then the person is gone."
"So, I first used a small knife to prick his fingers and let blood, which relieved the pressure so that all the blood wouldn't keep rushing toward his brain. Then, I used the silver needles to pierce his brain and clear the blocked vessels. Once the blood flowed normally again, he naturally recovered."
Finally, Xiang Feng concluded, "The condition was dangerous, but the treatment wasn't difficult—at least not for me. After all, your husband is a little divine doctor." He grinned.
"..." Liu Ruyun kept her lips sealed, but a hint of joy hid in her eyes. Who would have thought that the "little husband" she tricked into marriage was actually a hidden treasure? A divine doctor who also knew martial arts—she would never have to worry about a thing for the rest of her life.
If a patient with a cerebral hemorrhage were taken to a hospital for surgery, the procedure wouldn't take less than two hours, and even if successful, they would need to survive a two-day critical period, followed by a rehabilitation cycle of at least six months!
Her husband had done it in less than half an hour!
*My husband is amazing!* Liu Ruyun thought, but then she remembered something. "Xiao Feng, that... Grandmother, is she really going to live for less than three days?" Even though the old woman had targeted her, she was still a Liu family elder and the woman her grandfather had cherished his whole life. Liu Ruyun couldn't just pretend she didn't know.
"Yes, she won't live past three days." Xiang Feng nodded.
"Can you save her? After all, she is my grandmother..."
"She treated you so poorly, and you still want to help her?" Xiang Feng frowned. He didn't like that old woman who looked down on people. Why must women make things difficult for other women? Liu Ruyun was *his* woman; if no one else cared for her, he would!
"She's still family. I can't just ignore it." Liu Ruyun looked troubled.
"If they apologize to you, I'll save her. If not, then forget it." Xiang Feng had his own bottom line. "You are my wife; I won't let people bully you for nothing."
"..." Liu Ruyun was moved yet again. Her rugged, straightforward little husband—why was he so good at caring for her?
They spent the whole afternoon shopping but ended up buying nothing. In the evening, however, Liu Ruyun treated Xiang Feng to a spicy and aromatic hotpot. They wandered around looking for a traditional Chinese medicine clinic, but the results were disappointing. There were very few clinics to begin with, and the ones that were doing well had no reason to change hands.
"I suggest you open your own clinic. We can custom-order the herbs and other supplies ourselves. What do you think?" Liu Ruyun already trusted Xiang Feng's medical skills completely and firmly supported him in opening a clinic.
"That's possible, but I don't have much money on hand..." Xiang Feng was stumped. A single coin could baffle a hero; he had world-class skills but nowhere to display them. It was embarrassing.
"I’ll provide it," Liu Ruyun said. "I can't guarantee a huge amount, but I have a million or so."
"Eh, won't it be bad to live off a woman? We agreed that I would earn money to support the family while you focused on being beautiful." Xiang Feng’s face turned even more awkward. Taking a woman's money... *But honestly, living off a woman is quite nice!*
"How about this? Consider it my dowry for marrying into your family." Xiang Feng gritted his teeth and "sold" himself.
"Pfft!" Liu Ruyun laughed. She nodded and said, "Fine, consider it a dowry. I'll give it to you later."
"Sounds good." Xiang Feng readily agreed, happily adding, "Don't worry, even though you’re spending the money, you won't lose out. Laundry, cooking, back rubs, and foot massages—I’m incredibly skilled at those..."
"What are you thinking about? Who asked you for a back rub?" Liu Ruyun’s face flushed slightly. She gave Xiang Feng a look that was a mix of shyness and feigned anger. Under the moonlight, she looked indescribably charming.
"I..." Xiang Feng wanted to say more, but his brow suddenly furrowed!
*Screech!*
The BMW’s tires screeched against the pavement as it came to a firm stop. Less than a meter in front of the car, a man had suddenly appeared. A middle-aged man with a deathly pale face!
"Hey, what are you doing? Move out of the way!" Liu Ruyun was so frightened her face turned pale; they had nearly hit him.
"You, get out of the car. I'm here to kill you!" The middle-aged man didn't even look at Liu Ruyun. His sinister gaze was locked coldly onto Xiang Feng, and a flash of eerie, scarlet light crossed his eyes.
The temperature in the mid-summer evening suddenly dropped.
"Xiao Feng..."
*Thump!*
Just as Liu Ruyun was about to stop him, she felt a sharp pain in her neck. Her eyelids grew heavy, and she slumped over the steering wheel, falling into a deep sleep.
"You want to kill me?" Xiang Feng stepped out of the car, a ferocious, savage grin on his face—a complete departure from his earlier, harmless, and honest demeanor.
"I’ll give you one minute to say your last words." The middle-aged man glanced at Xiang Feng dismissively, as if looking at a dead man.
"Did Li Donghao send you?" Xiang Feng narrowed his eyes. This annoying fly really should be swatted dead to save him the trouble.
"Yes, I am one of Young Master Li’s men. Since you know, let me send you on your way."
The middle-aged man moved. The air around him suddenly changed—it was the surge of violent Internal Force. Yet, Xiang Feng remained where he was, not moving an inch.
"Hmm, interesting..." Seeing Xiang Feng not budge, the man’s speed increased sharply. His claws, as sharp as a hawk’s, aimed directly for Xiang Feng’s throat! *Eagle Claw Technique*—it could tear through millimeters of steel! One strike meant death!
*Slap!*
A crisp sound echoed. The cold sneer on the middle-aged man’s face suddenly froze! He had been slapped by Xiang Feng, and his face was burning with pain! He looked at Xiang Feng again, but he seemed not to have moved at all, still standing in the same spot.
"You dare to talk big and threaten to kill me with this pathetic bit of Internal Force? Who gave you the courage? Little Liang?" Xiang Feng stood with his hands behind his back, curling his lip in disdain. This force wasn't even as strong as a wild monkey’s back on Qingyun Mountain!
"You... you are a Great Grandmaster?" The middle-aged man was stunned, rubbing his burning cheek, looking at Xiang Feng with utter terror. The slap hadn't been very forceful, but the insult was immense! Huang Qiang was the leader of Li Donghao's personal bodyguard team, with an annual salary of over a million and over a hundred men under him, each one a ruthless character. When he heard that Ah Long and Ah Biao had been beaten, he was the first to lose his patience. After receiving orders from the young master, he came to intercept Xiang Feng and incidentally planned to forcibly take Liu Ruyun away.
But Huang Qiang never dreamed he would run into a Great Grandmaster. And how young was this guy?
"Great Grandmaster? What the hell is that?" Xiang Feng frowned, confused.
"You... you don't know what a Great Grandmaster is?" Huang Qiang felt a wave of frustration. *You just beat me up, and you don't even know your own rank?*
"I don't. Explain it to me carefully; perhaps I'll spare your dog life." Xiang Feng was indeed puzzled. The old man had just told him to train; he never mentioned anything about Great Grandmasters.
"A Great Grandmaster is a rank for ancient martial artists," Huang Qiang said, putting his shock aside—staying alive was more important. "Ancient martial arts are divided into External Force, Internal Force, and Transformation Force. Generally, those who reach the Transformation Force level are known as Great Grandmasters. Above the Great Grandmaster are the Martial Sage, the Divine Realm, and the Heavenly Realm. The Heavenly Realm... those are legendary immortals who can fly on swords and travel thousands of miles in a day."
"Oh, I see. You’re so weak, so you must be at the External Force level? You only have that tiny bit of energy in your body." Xiang Feng understood, seeing through Huang Qiang's strength at a glance.
"..." Huang Qiang’s face turned red. Usually, he was arrogant, even the young master of the Li family showed him some respect, but now he was being looked down upon by a bumpkin. It was too humiliating! But he was also curious—where did this guy come from? A Great Grandmaster! In the entire Qingyun Mountain area, there weren't even five of them!
"Alright, leave an arm behind and get lost. Go back and tell Li Donghao that if there is a next time, I’ll go find him and have a chat personally."
"Ah? I have to leave an arm?" Huang Qiang froze, cold sweat pouring down his forehead.
"Then I’ll just do it myself!" As the words fell, Xiang Feng’s figure appeared frozen in place like a photograph, but he had already grabbed Huang Qiang’s right arm.
"AAAH!" With a shrill cry, Huang Qiang’s right arm was ripped clean off by Xiang Feng. Blood poured like a fountain! But Xiang Feng was not satisfied because a lot of blood had splashed onto the silver BMW. This was his beautiful wife's car; he couldn't let it get dirty.
"Wipe the car clean, pick up your arm, and get out of here immediately. Otherwise, I’ll twist your dog head off."
"..." Huang Qiang was wiping away snot and tears from the pain, but he didn't doubt Xiang Feng for a second. This man looked harmless, but in reality, he was cruel and ruthless! He was truly capable of killing! So, Huang Qiang endured the pain, wiped the hood clean, picked up his severed arm, and disappeared into the night.
"In that case, my strength must have reached the Martial Sage level? And that old man back home must be in the Divine Realm?" Xiang Feng muttered as he got into the car, looked at his sleeping wife, and shook his head to clear the thought. Right now, nothing was more important than making babies with his beautiful CEO!
Xiang Feng massaged the woman’s neck for a few minutes. Liu Ruyun let out a soft "Mm-hmm" and slowly opened her eyes.
"What happened to me?" Liu Ruyun rubbed her forehead, looking at Xiang Feng in a daze.
"It’s nothing. You were probably just tired and fell asleep. I looked closely, and it seems you’re a bit malnourished and under a lot of stress," Xiang Feng smiled. "I’ll make some Chinese medicine for you to regulate your body later."
"Is that really it? Didn't we almost hit someone? He wanted to fight with you, so why..." Liu Ruyun shook her head, trying hard to recall bits and pieces.
"Didn't we avoid hitting him?" Xiang Feng said dismissively. "The guy was just a lunatic. I got out, yelled at him twice, and he left. Anyway, let’s not worry about that. Let’s hurry home; I want to see what our bridal chamber looks like."
"..." Liu Ruyun blushed and stopped questioning it, driving them home.
Liu Ruyun didn't live at the Liu Family Manor. After her grandfather passed away, she had been living in a studio apartment. So the problem arose: the apartment only had one room. How would they sleep? A flash marriage wasn't rare, but falling into bed immediately... Liu Ruyun wasn't ready for that yet. But she couldn't just abandon her "treasure" of a little husband; after all, she was the one who had used him as a shield. She couldn't just toss him aside after using him.
"Wife, this place is really beautiful, much better than our wooden cabin on the mountain. Oh, and you have two turtles!" Upon entering, Xiang Feng looked around as if he were exploring a grand garden. The apartment was small and decorated in shades of pink, making it feel very warm and fragrant.
"You just sit wherever you like. I'm going to the bathroom." Liu Ruyun took her phone and went into the bathroom. She had only thought about finding a shield and hadn't considered what it would be like for them to actually live together. Now, the awkwardness had arrived. How do two people live in a studio? A lone man and a woman in one room—it only takes a tiny spark to ignite a fire.
*Sigh, I was too hasty!* Liu Ruyun ordered pajamas, slippers, and toiletries for Xiang Feng on her phone before finally stepping out of the bathroom and handing him a cold drink.
Xiang Feng took a few sips and then went to the bathroom himself.
"Wife, wife, what is this?" Two minutes later, Xiang Feng came out holding a tiny piece of black fabric.
Liu Ruyun looked up, her face turning so red it felt like it might bleed. Her skin burned. *Why is this guy holding my thong?*
"Hey, this thing feels pretty comfortable, so smooth and silky..." Xiang Feng was stroking it with a look of pure enjoyment...
It was as thin as a cicada's wing, incredibly smooth.
"Give it back to me!" Liu Ruyun’s face was beet red. She snatched it away and scurried into the bedroom.
"Why did her face suddenly turn red?" Xiang Feng scratched his head, completely baffled.
A few minutes later, Liu Ruyun emerged from the bedroom. The long, pale blue silk nightgown was a bit loose but couldn't hide her proud, stunning figure. Her long hair fell naturally over her shoulders, soft and silky.
"Xiao Feng, here is a quilt. And here is a phone. Although I've used it before, it’s in perfect working order and much easier to use than your antique phone." Liu Ruyun handed him the items, feeling a lingering sense of guilt, like she was burning a bridge after crossing it.
"We aren't sleeping together?" Sure enough, a look of displeasure appeared on Xiang Feng’s fair face.
"Xiao Feng, we... we really just met not long ago..." Liu Ruyun’s face was flushed, avoiding Xiang Feng’s burning gaze, feeling both guilty and shy.
"Are you afraid I’ll force myself on you and sleep with you?" Xiang Feng saw right through her.
"Yeah. I’m not ready yet..." Liu Ruyun’s voice dropped even lower.
"Actually, you don’t have to worry about that at all." Xiang Feng shook his head. "You don't have to trust my character, but you must trust my medical skills. Your period is due tonight; I have no desire to run a red light."
"Huh?" Liu Ruyun forgot to be shy, staring at Xiang Feng in astonishment. He even knew her menstrual cycle? Calculating the days, it was indeed due in the next day or two. This medical skill was just too terrifying!
"Don’t look at me with such worship; I’ll get embarrassed," Xiang Feng laughed cheekily.
"I’m going to take a shower first. If you’re right, it’ll be inconvenient to shower tomorrow. You should rest first." Not daring to delay, Liu Ruyun rushed into the bathroom. Soon, the sound of splashing water filled the room.
"Wife, do you need any help? I’m really good at scrubbing backs. The old geezer always made me do it for him..."
The bathroom door was frosted glass, casting a hazy silhouette of the woman inside. Although it wasn't clear, that blurred, graceful figure provided even more room for imagination. Xiang Feng was tempted!
"No, I can do it myself. Thank you, Xiao Feng." Inside the bathroom, Liu Ruyun’s voice was hurried and shy.
"My technique is really good, you know."
"No, I’ll be out soon."
"Alright then." Xiang Feng sighed, helplessly sat back on the sofa, and played with the second-hand phone Liu Ruyun had given him.
