Su Tian frowned, his gaze falling on the woman’s feet. At just a glance, an image of the woman’s ankle bones and internal structure manifested in his mind. He could clearly see signs of tearing in the meridians of her left foot; she must have sprained it while running.
"Is this the power of the Semi-Immortal Body? Not only has it granted me immense strength, but it has also given me this sensory ability?"
He muttered to himself, marveling at the power of the Semi-Immortal Body. Outwardly, however, he said, "I’m in a hurry to get home. You can call the police to handle this."
"I... I can’t call the police. I ran away from home, which is why I ended up in a place like this."
Su Tian frowned again, examining the woman more closely. With his current perception, he could naturally see that she was no ordinary person. Beyond her beautiful figure and face, it was her temperament that stood out. There was a calm, quiet, and serene air about her. It was obvious she wasn’t an average person, and he certainly didn’t want to get involved in such trouble.
"Please, I beg you!"
Seeing his hesitation, the woman spoke again, "How about this: as long as you take me with you and let me hide for a few days, I’m willing to pay you two hundred thousand as a reward!"
"Two hundred thousand? Are you serious?"
"Of course. It’s right there in my mobile banking balance!"
The woman tapped on her phone a few times, and a balance of over two hundred thousand appeared on the screen.
"Fine. Two hundred thousand it is."
Su Tian gritted his teeth. He knew this woman was trouble, but he needed the money. His mother’s heart was in poor condition; last year, the doctor had recommended a stent procedure, but they had been unable to afford the surgery. This money would change their situation immediately.
"You walk too slowly. I’ll carry you for the rest of the way."
"All right."
The woman nodded decisively. Su Tian crouched down, let her climb onto his back, and then took off at a sprint.
The wind and snow whistled past the woman’s ears, and her eyes widened in shock. She hadn’t expected Su Tian to be able to run so fast—it was almost as quick as a car. Su Tian, however, paid no attention to this; he just ran with everything he had. Five minutes later, he had cleared the Longshan area and reached the city streets. He hailed a taxi, gave the address, and the car sped toward an old residential neighborhood.
Twenty minutes later, the taxi pulled up to the gate of the old housing complex. The moment Su Tian stepped out, his eyes turned bloodshot. He saw a group of bleached-blonde youths smashing his family’s windows with steel pipes. His parents were trying to stop them but had been shoved to the ground.
"Damn it! Pay your debts—it’s only natural! Your son owes Shen Hu two hundred thousand, and now that Shen Hu has entrusted this matter to our Jinyuan Company, this debt belongs to us! You have to pay up!"
"That’s impossible! My son would never borrow that much money!" Su Tian’s father, Su Qiang, roared. "Get out of here now, or I’m calling the police!"
"The police?" One of the blonde youths gave a wicked look and, with a *slap*, struck Su Qiang across the face. "You think the police will help? Old man, let me tell you, it’s useless! Even if they come, you’ll still have to pay up!"
"You’re asking for death!"
*Boom!*
The roar erupted suddenly. The moment the youth finished speaking, a figure lunged into the fray and kicked him square in the stomach.
*Pfft!*
Blood sprayed from the youth’s mouth, and he collapsed, passing out on the spot.
"Brother Mao!"
The other youths were stunned, but a moment later, they roared in anger and charged at Su Tian with their steel pipes. Su Tian’s expression was cold. With one hand, he snatched the pipes away and then snapped them in half with his bare hands.
The sound of twisting metal echoed as Su Tian broke seven or eight steel pipes like twigs. The youths were left in a daze. Su Tian shouted, "Get lost!"
The youths trembled at his voice, then quickly hoisted the unconscious Brother Mao and began to retreat. Before they left the complex, they hollered, "Just you wait, kid! Our Brother Jin won’t let you get away with this!"
"Hmph! Good! Go back and tell that guy named Jin—if he doesn’t come looking for me, I’m coming for him! Tell him to wash his neck and wait!"
Su Tian’s shout made the youths lose their nerve, and they scrambled away. Seeing this, Su Qiang and his wife were stunned; they hadn’t realized that in just a few days, Su Tian had become so overbearing.
"Dad, Mom, are you alright?" Su Tian asked, helping them up.
Su Qiang and his wife finally snapped out of it. His mother, Yang Mei, asked, "Xiao Tian, what is going on? Where have you been these past few days?"
"Mom, it’s nothing. I just had a little misunderstanding with some friends. I’ve been dealing with it, and it’s almost finished." Su Tian spoke quickly; he certainly wasn't going to tell them about his recent experiences and cause them more worry.
Su Qiang looked him over and finally said, "Fine. Let's go inside and talk."
Su Tian nodded. From nearby, the woman limped toward them. "Uncle, Auntie, hello. My name is Fenghua, a friend of Su Tian’s."
Su Qiang and his wife were taken aback again, but Su Tian quickly added, "Dad, Mom, Fenghua was a classmate of mine. I just ran into her, and since she sprained her ankle, I wanted to let her rest at our place for a bit."
"Is that so? Then let her in," Su Qiang said with a nod.
Yang Mei looked embarrassed. "Fenghua, right? I’m so sorry you had to see my family in such trouble."
"It’s fine, Auntie. Those people were too arrogant; they deserved a good lesson. By the way, please just call me Xiao Hua," Fenghua said politely.
Su Tian didn’t say anything more and helped his parents inside. Once they were home, he settled Fenghua into an empty room. Although his family’s home was in an old complex without elevators or security cameras, it also lacked the shared common space fees of high-end apartments. Being on the ground floor with a small courtyard, they had plenty of extra rooms.
After getting Fenghua settled, Su Tian went to the living room. Su Qiang had already sent Yang Mei to the back room to rest, leaving only the two of them.
"Tell me, what is actually going on?"
"Dad, it really is nothing. Like I said, it’s all a misunderstanding."
"Are you sure?" Su Qiang said coldly. "You disappeared for three days, then suddenly you owe two hundred thousand, and now this female classmate—why haven't I ever seen her before? And what about your girlfriend, Liu Qian?"
Facing his father’s relentless questions, Su Tian’s eyes darkened. Finally, he said, "Dad, it’s too complicated to explain. Just give me three days. Within three days, I will resolve all of these problems."
Su Qiang frowned and wanted to ask more, but seeing the look in his son’s eyes, he let out a sigh. "Fine. You’re an adult now, and I can’t control you anymore. But remember, this family can’t take much more, especially considering your mother’s health."
"Don’t worry, Dad. I know what I’m doing."
Su Tian said this firmly, and Su Qiang, seeing his conviction, simply nodded and said no more.
