"All right."
Su Tian agreed. His cousin, Su Yun, was a boarding student at Tengshi No. 1 High School, and since his second uncle still lived in the countryside, it was natural that he would help them with these errands.
After finishing breakfast, Su Tian took a large box from home and headed out. He first stopped at a mobile phone store to buy a new phone, then called Su Yun. By the time he reached the gates of Tengshi No. 1 High School, Su Yun was already waiting for him.
"Brother!"
Su Yun’s face lit up with a happy smile the moment she saw him. Su Tian smiled back, walked up to her, and said, "This is what Second Uncle prepared for you."
"Mmm... it’s so heavy..."
"Haha, you don't have to carry it. I’ll take it to your dorm for you."
Su Tian chuckled. Su Yun nodded and led him to her dormitory. After setting the items down, Su Tian asked, "How is your studying lately?"
"It’s okay. It’s a bit of a struggle, but I’m still maintaining my grades."
"Mm, that’s normal. High school determines the course of your life; it’s supposed to be tough right now."
"Sigh, Brother, I know all that, but I’m just so exhausted. Sometimes I’m so tired that I get headaches at night and can't sleep well."
Su Yun sighed. Su Tian’s heart stirred. "Is that so? That’s perfect. I recently learned a new massage technique. Let me give you a session; it should help restore your energy."
"A massage?"
"Yes, just a massage. Alright, just sit tight."
Su Yun didn't suspect anything and sat on her bed. Su Tian reached out and pressed his finger to her forehead.
*Hum.*
Su Yun’s body shivered, and she fell asleep instantly. Su Tian’s eyes grew bright, and a green glow welled up from his fingertip, beginning to circulate through Su Yun’s body.
He had performed the "Concentration Finger," a technique from the Divine Sense Art specifically designed to enhance a person’s spirit and mental capacity. Since Su Yun was working so hard, he naturally wanted to test it out. Through his divine sense, he could see that her neural pathways had become much stronger; even her internal organs were becoming more robust, and her blood circulation was accelerating.
Five minutes later, seeing that it was enough, Su Tian withdrew his finger. Su Yun’s eyes snapped open, and her entire being radiated a vibrant, high-spirited energy.
"Brother! That massage was amazing! My head doesn't hurt at all, and I feel like the complex concepts that were bothering me before have suddenly become clear!"
"Haha, I’m glad to hear that."
Seeing Su Yun’s excitement, Su Tian smiled happily. He could clearly see her rejuvenated state, and he felt even more satisfied with the Divine Sense Art.
"Alright, keep up with your studies. I’m heading off now. Call me if you need anything."
After saying his goodbyes, Su Tian left the dormitory and headed toward the school exit.
*It seems the Divine Sense Art in the Cave Heaven Sutra is truly miraculous,* he mused to himself. *Not only does it grant me powerful perception, allowing me to see through everything, but it can also help others improve their mental and cognitive capacity. Plus, my Semi-Immortal Body can absorb spiritual energy, and rumor has it that spiritual energy can even bring the dead back to life or regrow flesh and bone. Perhaps I can use it to help my parents improve their health as well?*
A gleam of light flashed in Su Tian’s eyes.
Just as he reached the school gate, his phone rang. Su Tian smiled when he saw the number and answered, "Wang Feng, what made you think to call me?"
"Damn it, I should be asking you that! Where have you been these past few days? I couldn't get through to your phone. I even went to find Shen Hu, but he said he didn't know anything either."
At the mention of Shen Hu, Su Tian’s expression darkened, but he didn't let it show. He laughed, "I lost my phone a few days ago and just bought a new one today. I only just recovered my number through my ID. But let's not talk about that—what's up?"
"What else? Let’s grab a drink."
"Are you in Tengshi?"
"Yeah, here for some business."
"Alright then, come to my residential complex. We’ll find a place to eat nearby and have a proper drink."
Wang Feng agreed immediately, and Su Tian hailed a taxi home. As soon as he reached the entrance of the complex, he saw a young man in casual clothes—his roommate of four years, Wang Feng.
"Haha, you're here."
Hearing this, Wang Feng smiled and walked over, pulling Su Tian into a bear hug. Su Tian laughed and patted his shoulder. "You’ve lost quite a bit of weight. Seems like you’ve been hitting the gym."
"Haha, just messing around."
Wang Feng laughed, but Su Tian sensed the underlying sorrow beneath his smile. Before he could ask, a van pulled up and stopped right at the gate.
"Boss, it’s me."
The door opened and Jin Hu stepped out.
"It’s you? Well? Did you get it done?"
"I wouldn't dare delay anything you ordered, Boss. I caught Shen Hu and Liu Qian this morning. They’re in the van behind us."
"Is that so? Very good."
Su Tian’s eyes turned cold. Wang Feng looked stunned. "Shen Hu? Liu Qian? What’s going on?"
"I'll explain on the way." Su Tian glanced at Wang Feng, then said a few words to Jin Hu. Jin Hu nodded and waved, signaling the van to drive to the rear of the complex.
Su Tian led Wang Feng away, quickly recounting the events. By the time he finished, Wang Feng was fuming. "Damn it! How could Shen Hu do such a thing? We were roommates for four years! And he actually stole your girlfriend and dumped you in a graveyard!"
"I never expected him to do this either."
Su Tian’s gaze was icy. Seeing this, Wang Feng’s expression turned grave. "Su Tian, don't do anything impulsive!"
"Don't worry, I know what I'm doing."
Su Tian replied. By then, they had reached an abandoned mining area behind the residential complex. This area had once been one of the largest coal mines in Tengshi, driving the city’s economic boom, but it had long since been deserted after the coal ran out.
Once they arrived, two people with their heads hooded and hands tied behind their backs were shoved out of the van by several men with dyed hair. It was Liu Qian and Shen Hu!
Seeing Su Tian, the two of them turned pale, their eyes filled with terror.
"Su Tian! You... you're not dead!"
"How is this possible! We checked so many times!"
Su Tian’s eyes were cold. "Hmph, judging by your tone, you seem to think it would be better if I were dead, is that it?"
The two of them stiffened. Wang Feng suddenly kicked Shen Hu. "Damn you, Shen Hu! Why did you do this?"
Shen Hu’s lips moved, as if he wanted to explain, but he didn't know what to say. Liu Qian, standing beside him, began to cry. "Wuu... don't blame Shen Hu. It was all my fault. I was the one who seduced him first. Shen Hu got rich; his father suddenly returned from overseas. As soon as he got back, his dad gave him five million and wanted to bring him home..."
"His father? Shen Hu, aren't you an orphan? Didn't you say your mom died of a heart attack when you were three and that you’d never seen your dad?"
Wang Feng frowned. Shen Hu’s eyes grew fierce. "My dad was a fugitive fleeing overseas back then! Do you think I could talk about that?"
Wang Feng was speechless. Su Tian said coldly, "So that’s it. In short, you, Liu Qian, realized Shen Hu had money, so you looked down on me, right?"
"Yes... that's how it is..."
"Fine. People always seek better opportunities. I don't blame you for doing that, Liu Qian; I only blame myself for being blind back then. But what I don't understand is, why did you have to kill me?"
