Chapter 7

1,279 words6 minutes read

Among them were calligraphy and paintings, jade wares, and porcelain pieces, every single one of which was exquisitely crafted.
"Ah, hello, Miss Feng."
"Miss Feng has arrived."
A burst of laughter rang out as several middle-aged men sitting inside the suite smiled and stood up. Fenghua nodded in response. "Pardon the intrusion, gentlemen. Are all the items in this room yours?"
"Indeed."
The group of middle-aged men smiled and nodded. Fenghua said, "Then I trust you gentlemen don't mind me having a few masters come over to appraise them?"
"Of course. Antiques are meant to be appraised."
"Very well, please wait a moment."
With that, Fenghua took out her phone and made a call. Less than three minutes later, a group of people dressed in Tang suits walked in.
"Eldest Miss."
"Mm."
Fenghua nodded. "You are all antique masters from within the province, so I'll leave the rest to you."
The group immediately nodded and stepped forward to examine the items one by one.
Meanwhile, Su Tian's gaze shifted. The moment he laid eyes on these antiques, his Divine Sense Art activated automatically, and a flood of ancient knowledge suddenly surged into his mind. Cultural insights spanning the Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties all appeared in his consciousness, leaving him momentarily stunned.
"This is... divine sense deduction? My Divine Sense Art can even deduce knowledge?"
"Are you alright?"
Fenghua asked, snapping Su Tian back to reality. His gaze flickered as he replied, "I'm fine. May I go up and take a look?"
"You know antiques?"
"I suppose I know a little."
"Is that so? Then I'll truly look forward to it. Have a look around."
A flash of intrigue crossed Fenghua's eyes, and Su Tian didn't stand on ceremony, stepping forward to begin his inspection.
Under the perception of his divine sense, these antiques now emitted different glows in his eyes. The denser the cyan light, the more knowledge and information they contained. Su Tian merely circulated a trace of spiritual energy within his body, and the craftsmanship and cultural value of these antiques instantly appeared in his mind.
"Wonderful! It turns out my Divine Sense Art really does have the ability to deduce knowledge! This is simply marvelous!"
Elated inside, Su Tian kept his expression calm and quickly selected three items.
These three items were a painting, a porcelain piece, and an ancient piece of jade.
The antique masters nearby were taken aback when they saw this, but upon realizing that Su Tian was just a young man, a look of disdain crept into their eyes.
"You chose just these three?"
Fenghua walked over at that moment. Su Tian nodded. "Mm, I believe these three hold the most value."
"Really?"
A glint flashed in Fenghua's eyes, and she quickly made another phone call.
Before long, an elderly man with white hair and a beard, leaning on a cane, walked in. This caused many of the masters to start and hastily say, "Greetings, Master Yang!"
"Master Yang, why have you come?"
The old man waved a hand. "Go on with your work, you lot. I just came to have a look."
Everyone fell silent. The old man nodded to Fenghua and then walked over to the three items Su Tian had chosen.
Seeing the old man's actions, many of the masters also cast their gazes toward those three items. After all, Master Yang was a top-tier antique appraiser in the country and had served as the director of numerous first-class domestic museums, so naturally, they cared deeply about his judgment.
After looking for a moment, the old man suddenly yawned. Fenghua tactfully brought over a chair for him to sit on and smiled, "Grandpa Yang, I've troubled you again this time."
"Heh, it's nothing. Who selected these three pieces?"
Fenghua pointed at Su Tian, causing Master Yang to raise an eyebrow. "Young man, can you tell me why you chose these three items?"
"These three pieces offer the best value for money," Su Tian said. "This genuine painting *Pine and Chrysanthemums in a Pottery Garden* dates from the early Qing dynasty and was painted by Master Wu Li. Of course, this painting is not the original; it is a copy by another unknown late-Qing painter. Even so, this painting still holds value because the painter's brushwork is quite good. The current listed price for this painting is three million, but considering its historical and artistic value, it can reach five million. Similarly, this Qianlong-era yellow jade *guibi* and this Ming dynasty Jiajing-glazed large jar are the same. Although they are both replicas, their materials and age are of great value, far exceeding their listed prices."
The masters all exchanged looks, their eyes flickering as they turned to look at Master Yang.
Master Yang, however, let out a hearty laugh. "Good! I never expected a young man like you to have such sharp eyes!"
"Grandpa Yang, do you mean he chose all of them correctly?"
"Of course. His conclusions match mine."
Hearing this, the masters gasped in unison and looked at Su Tian in shock, never imagining that he possessed such discernment!
A brilliant light shone in Fenghua's eyes as she smiled, "Grandpa Yang, I really have to thank you this time. Don't worry, your appraisal fee will be credited immediately."
With that, Fenghua gestured with her hand, and the man who had led the way earlier immediately walked over, respectfully supporting Master Yang as he left.
"Master craftsmen, please continue your work."
Fenghua spoke again, prompting the masters to snap out of their daze. After casting deep glances at Su Tian, they resumed their inspection of the antiques.
Another half hour or so passed before the masters finally finished selecting their items. Su Tian watched and nodded inwardly, knowing that these masters did indeed have some genuine skill. Although the cyan light of the items they picked was not as dense as his own, they were still treasures worth well above their listed prices.
"Have all the masters finished selecting?"
Fenghua asked with a smile. The masters nodded one after another. Fenghua continued, "Good. I trust the expertise of all the masters. Now, let's settle the accounts."
As she spoke, Fenghua produced a black bank card, bringing smiles to the faces of the merchants. One of the middle-aged men pulled out a laptop and began entering the card number from the black card into the computer.
Fenghua stepped up to enter the password, and immediately following a phone call to confirm her identity on the other end, the screen on the laptop changed.
A figure of sixty-two million appeared, causing the middle-aged man to laugh heartily. "Transaction complete. Miss Feng, Guyuan Tower is delighted to do business with you."
"Likewise. In a little while, I will be taking a trip to Thailand myself, and we'll have even bigger collaborations then."
Fenghua smiled slightly, and the middle-aged man laughed again. "Haha... Wonderful! Then we shall await Miss Feng at Guyuan Tower."
With a wave of the middle-aged man's hand, the others nodded and promptly packed up the remaining antiques to take away.
The antique masters invited by Fenghua also took their selections and left, including the three pieces Su Tian had chosen earlier.
"What shall we do next?"
Su Tian asked. Fenghua smiled and said, "No rush, let's have a cup of tea here first."
With that, Fenghua found a tea set in the room and began preparing and brewing the tea.
Just as the tea was freshly brewed, Fenghua's phone vibrated, and a message popped up on the screen.
Fenghua glanced at it, a smile blooming on her face, and then turned the phone toward Su Tian.
