Chapter 41

950 words5 minutes read

Major General Yevgeny watched through the camera feed as Yang Xi scaled the wall like a spider, quickly climbing up to the fourth floor. Cold sweat beaded in his palms as he focused on every single move Yang Xi made, desperate to issue commands that could help him at a moment's notice. Time ticked away second by second; the terrorist at the window kept scanning the outside, leaving Yang Xi no opening. "We can't wait any longer," because the terrorists had issued an ultimatum: if no helicopter arrived within three minutes, they would execute the first hostage. Yang Xi had already formulated a countermeasure. Stowing his pistol and submachine gun, he drew his Husa Saber. He intended to use his internal force to shatter the glass directly, swiftly deal with the terrorist at the window, and toss in a flash-bang grenade before anyone inside could react, blinding their senses. Relying on his heightened perception, he would kill all five terrorists with lightning speed and lethal precision. Like a leopard, he crouched in ambush by the window, waiting for his prey to appear. His eyes, sharp as a falcon's, locked onto the terrorist at the window. His breathing grew steady and deep, as if the entire world were within his grasp.
