Chen Xuan considered this and replied, "If doing so can lift the state of a person devoid of the Dao, I'm willing to give it a try. But you mentioned earlier that the Great Sage was originally capable of cultivating both Buddhist scriptures at the same time. Why didn't he succeed in the end?"
