The Dragon King of the East Sea watched from afar as the Underwater Demon King led a host of demon soldiers and generals out of their great tent to confront them. A shock went through him, but he quickly steadied himself, immediately summoning his nine sons to form ranks and prepare for the new round of battle.
The dragon sons responded to their father’s call, gathering together. Each displayed unique supernatural powers and abilities, ready to meet the coming challenge.
The eldest, Qiuniu, was skilled in music; the second, Yazi, was fierce and bellicose; the third, Chaofeng, loved adventure; the fourth, Pulao, had a thunderous voice; the fifth, Suanni, looked like a majestic lion; the sixth, Bixi, possessed boundless strength; the seventh, Bi'an, was just and stern; the eighth, Fuxi, was highly cultured; and the ninth, Chiwen, could swallow fire and spit water.
