These spirit insects were truly the apple of his eye, every single one of them nurtured at great expense. They had their own families and friends; as their master who unconditionally devoted himself to them, Yelin bore the unshirkable duty of protecting their safety. Whether viewed from the perspective of gains and losses or from emotional attachment, he could never accept a large-scale demise of his spirit insects.
Through this battle, Yelin had truly and personally felt the might of a Soul Division Cultivator. Even if the physical body was destroyed, the Nascent Soul could still fight, and its strength was not necessarily inferior to the main body. The only catch was that fighting with the Nascent Soul consumed its origin. Once that origin was depleted, the best-case scenario was a regression in cultivation realm, while the worst-case scenario meant the soul would scatter and perish.
Even so, the Nascent Soul of a Soul Division entity and a regular Nascent Soul were two entirely different concepts. There was an unbridgeable chasm between their cultivation realms!
