To the right of the wooden counter hung a dark gray curtain. The old man pulled it back and urged everyone to leave. The purpose of their visit had been to exchange money; now that the goal was met, it was time for them to go. Yet, the old man’s behavior was truly bizarre. Even with new customers arriving, why was he so insistent on rushing them out? Before passing through the curtain, Jiang Younian glanced back at the blurred figure outside the glass door. Beneath the thick layer of grime, the view was indistinct, revealing only a slender silhouette moving with sluggish, rhythmic persistence, never ceasing to tap against the glass. Under the pressure of the old man’s urging gaze, Jiang Younian withdrew his eyes and turned to follow Xie Nanzhou. Behind the curtain was a small door. Pushing it open, they emerged directly onto a bustling street. Stylish men and women walked by, chatting and laughing. Not far away, in a fountain plaza, children were playing happily. When they turned back to look at the door they had just exited, it had vanished into the wall of the building. No matter how hard they searched, there was not a trace left behind.
