Early the next morning, Jiang Chen began the process of applying for a business license. He brought Lu Hongluan along, intending for her to learn how to deal with people. While Jiang Chen trusted her implicitly, professional competence was a different matter. Initially, Lu Hongluan was somewhat awkward during negotiations, but she adapted quickly. After all, she was a singer accustomed to performing before audiences in bars; she wasn't about to act shy and timid like a young schoolgirl when facing strangers. When it came to choosing a name for the company, Jiang Chen pondered for a moment before settling on a somewhat rustic one: "Jianglu Company." It was a bit kitschy. Ideally, a company name should be memorable, and this one didn't have much of a hook. But that didn't matter; the one thing Jiang Chen—who was collaborating with Su Feiyan—would never be short on was a company with a strong profile. "Next, we need to rent an office, recruit staff, and build our framework," Jiang Chen said. "After that, we’ll deal with suppliers and distribution channels."
