Chapter 14

After being led into the house by the hand, little Ji Qianxi looked around at the entire place. Inside, exquisite tiles covered the floor, and a soft sofa sat in the living room—something Su Jin had custom-ordered from the furniture store just a few days ago. There was also the crystal chandelier hanging from the ceiling of the living room, alongside a table that looked exceptionally high-end. These were things Ji Qianxi had never seen before, and a sense of inferiority welled up in her heart. Liu Shiran sensed her subtle emotions and, in order to divert her attention, told Ji Qianxi to go wake up that lazybones Su Yizhou. Upon coming home and seeing that Su Yizhou was still asleep, Liu Shiran had already been harboring a bellyful of anger. Neither she nor Su Jin were this lazy, so how had they managed to give birth to a son with such habits? Ji Qianxi was carried to the doorway of Su Yizhou's bedroom and put down. She cautiously pushed the door open and looked at the equally exquisite decoration inside, only to notice at that moment a piece of graffiti on the wall that seemed somewhat out of place with the room's refinement, filling her mind with confusion. Of course, this was something Su Yizhou had done when he was little and didn't know any better, for which he had received a severe scolding from Liu Shiran. She walked over to Su Yizhou's bedside. Finding it hard to wake him as he slept soundly and snored softly, she simply poked Su Yizhou's cheek and called out softly, "Brother Yizhou, please wake up. Auntie is calling you to eat breakfast." Hearing the murmuring in his ear, Su Yizhou slowly opened his eyes, entering the dazed state of just waking up. *Who am I? Where am I? Just woke up to find a little girl with braided pigtails standing by my bed, looking like she's super easy to bully. No joke, can anyone tell me what's going on here?* Rubbing his eyes, he quickly realized that this was Ji Qianxi, and he also recognized that he seemed to have slept far too long—it was almost 10 o'clock and he still wasn't up. He pinched Ji Qianxi's slightly flushed cheeks, then got dressed and went to the bathroom to wash up. Regarding why he had slept for so long, Su Yizhou only wanted to offer one explanation: sleeping a lot helps you grow taller, and in this lifetime, he was determined to grow into a man of 185 centimeters! After washing up, he walked into the living room. His mom had already prepared the bread for breakfast and handed it to him, her eyes revealing her dissatisfaction with him getting up so late. "From now on, you have to come with me on weekends to pick up Xi, or next time you can forget about going shopping with us!" Hearing this, Su Yizhou thought to himself: *There's such a great perk?* But he didn't dare to voice any objection to his mom, and nodded in agreement. After all, faced with someone as cute as Ji Qianxi, if he didn't bully her now, what would he do when she grew up? It was definitely not because he was yielding to the tyrannical might of his old lady. *(ˉ▽ ̄~)* Stuffing the bread into his mouth in two or three bites and finishing a bottle of grow-taller water (milk), he pulled Ji Qianxi into his room and dragged out the toy box. Looking at the building blocks, toy cars, and transformation devices inside, Su Yizhou thought that there were still far too few things he could play with now; these toys simply didn't match his temperament. Someday he would have to see if his old man could manage to haul a computer back from the company. Seeing Brother Su Yizhou once again lost in some inexplicable thoughts, Ji Qianxi began fiddling with the building blocks in the box. As everyone knew, with building blocks, Ji Qianxi could play quietly by herself all afternoon. Just at that moment, the doorbell rang. Listening to the familiar voice outside, Su Yizhou inwardly muttered that things looked bad—it seemed his little aunt had brought that havoc-wreaking little demon cousin over. His cheeks were still faintly aching. In his past life, seeing that he was little and couldn't beat her, not only did the cousin love to bully Su Yizhou, but she also frequently treated him like a slave, and worst of all, she would constantly pinch and rub his face at the slightest provocation! At that moment, Su Yizhou only wanted to escape. Resistance was out of the question; his cousin, two years older than him, could effortlessly crush any defiance he mustered. As the saying goes, when the strong face resistance from the weak, they merely find it amusing.
Seeing Su Yizhou look so panicked, Ji Qianxi asked, "Brother Yizhou, what's wrong with you?"
Looking at this seemingly "naive" little girl, Su Yizhou replied, "You'll find out soon enough. The older sister outside is a bad person; she's going to bully me."
Though Ji Qianxi was also terrified of the "bad person" Brother Yizhou had mentioned, she pouted and promised, "Then don't be scared, Brother Yizhou. I'll protect you later."
Su Yizhou gave a wry, bitter smile. It was clear she had never experienced the stinging lash of his cousin's wrath!
Before long, Liu Shiran called from outside, telling him to come out and greet his aunt. Knowing he couldn't escape this fate, Su Yizhou adopted a heroic, stoic posture and walked toward the door.
Clutching the corner of Su Yizhou's shirt as if she genuinely intended to protect him, Ji Qianxi followed right behind him.
Catching sight of the two exquisitely cute little children, the aunt gasped in surprise, "Sis, when did you secretly have a daughter? She looks so well-behaved."
Seeing the shy Ji Qianxi hiding behind Su Yizhou, Liu Shiran explained, "She's a little kid from a friend's place. They look about the same age—how could she possibly be mine?"
Wanting to catch up with her sister whom she hadn't seen in ages, and worried that Wang Spicy—who was already in primary school—would slack off if left alone at home, the aunt had no choice but to bring her along so she could do her homework there.
Wang Lala stood beside her mother looking utterly obedient, though only Su Yizhou knew how sharp her fangs truly were. Hearing his mother tell him to take his cousin to his room to do her homework, Su Yizhou felt as though his heart had turned to ash.Sure enough, as soon as they entered the room, the older cousin dropped the facade she put on in front of the adults. Staring at the two adorable little brats, she grabbed both of their cheeks with her hands and began kneading them.
"You can pick on me all you want, just please don't bully big brother!" Ji Qianxi said to Wang Lala in a soft, tender voice.
Leaving only Su Yizhou standing off to the side, pressing a hand to his forehead: *What good is being mad when you're this adorable?*
Wang Lala laughed and said, "Big sister just thinks you guys are cute, that's not bullying at all! Big sister has to go do her homework now, so you two be good and play here. I'll come hang out with you as soon as I'm done!"
Su Yizhou let out a sigh of relief, wanting to lead Ji Qianxi away to watch TV in the living room.
Yet a sudden urge to mess with this older cousin—who clearly didn't treat a little kid's face like an actual face—sprang to his mind. *Didn't you just say you have homework to do?* (cue the demonic laughter, hehehe...)
He pulled Ji Qianxi over to his cousin's side and stared at the math and language workbooks spread across her desk, eagerly hunting for her mistakes. Wang Lala didn't think much of it, simply assuming it was just a kid's overflowing curiosity, and buried her head right back in her homework.
"Sis, I think you calculated this one wrong," a childish, milky voice piped up from beside her. Wang Lala let out a soft chuckle, assuming her little cousin was just trying to pull a prank on her. How could her cousin possibly know material they had only just been taught recently?
*Oh please, you're trying way too hard to act smart!*
Seeing that his cousin was ignoring him, Su Yizhou found another mistake and pointed it out to her.
Wang Lala seemed rather annoyed. Could it be that she hadn't bullied Su Yizhou in so long that he was starting to grow a rebellious streak?
