Their rooms were adjacent, which was convenient. There seemed to be twenty guest rooms on the floor, but they hadn't noticed any other rooms being occupied. Once they had dropped off their luggage, they went to Lu Chi’s room.
The rooms on this floor were all doubles. The space was narrow, furnished with two single beds, an old television, and a chair. The curtains were drawn. Lu Chi turned on the light; it looked as if he had been staying there for quite some time.
