As a morning breeze swept through, the odor began to disperse, and the villagers surrounding the site clutched their noses and mouths, their stomachs churning in revulsion. The missing poultry must have been here as well. But how had these people and the animals managed to get inside such a well-sealed grave? The villagers seemed to reach the same conclusion simultaneously; their expressions soured, and their eyes filled with dread.
