Chapter 16

Liu Mei followed Qin Feng, pulling her suitcase, trembling with fear the whole way.
“Qin Feng, do you really have supernatural abilities?”
“No!”
Qin Feng opened the system panel and glanced at it. He only had 170 points in the mall, which felt just like his bank account, pitifully poor.
Just a few steps after they walked out, dozens of zombies rushed out from the park.
“Roar, roar!”
The roars suddenly broke the morning tranquility.
“Run!” Liu Mei was about to leave again.
“Great, finally some zombies!”
“You wait for me!” Qin Feng picked up a stick and charged forward, extremely excited.
It was like people who wake up early rushing to the market, or people heading to work chasing a bus.
Liu Mei was stunned by the scene, “Is he crazy, what’s he so excited about?”
Not far away, Qin Feng swung his barbell like a scythe, clearing a large area with each sweep. He shouted as he fought, “Anyone else, anyone else? If there are, come out, so I don’t have to make another trip!”
“Roar, roar!” Zombies from all directions surged out at once.
The street, in the early morning, suddenly became lively.
In the plaza, amidst the traffic, under the shade of trees, the zombies on the entire street suddenly revived.
They all chased in the direction of the sound.
Liu Mei felt like this world didn’t belong to her anymore. Hundreds of zombies, a chaotic street, fighting, mutated monsters, and a beautiful woman standing alone. Outside, bodies flew, and crackling sounds were incessant.
Liu Mei bit her lower lip and shook her head, “He’s not crazy, he has the power!” This feeling was like being in the workplace, handling things with ease.
While Liu Mei was lost in thought, Qin Feng had already run back, holding a dirty stick and shouting, “What are you doing, spacing out? Is this your first day in this world?”
“Let’s go!”
“Okay, okay!”
Liu Mei had an illusion that they were switching roles.
Qin Feng looked at the system excitedly; his points had reached 3000. Making money was too easy, better than his salary from work.
On the way, Liu Mei no longer had her usual arrogance, just like a little girl following him. She was also no longer afraid.
“Qin Feng, you live in this rundown neighborhood?”
“Yeah!”
“Why don’t you move out?” Liu Mei frowned, looking at the dilapidated old neighborhood, “There are many places to live now, like the Technology Building, why stay here?”
“I still have one thing to finish!”
“When I’m done, I’ll leave!” Qin Feng hurried into the neighborhood.
The neighborhood was no longer like it used to be; no one came out in the morning. On the ground were only decaying corpses, and some rats scurried out from underground. Occasionally, a scream could be heard.
Going up the stairs, he seemed to hear someone smashing things above.
“Hurry up!” Qin Feng looked back at Liu Mei, feeling like she was walking on feces. Her high heels, worth over ten thousand yuan, should have been stepping on tiles worth over ten thousand yuan per square meter, not in this old neighborhood.
Qin Feng was speechless and could only quicken his pace. Just one floor away from the room, he heard someone prying open a metal door above, shouting as they worked.
“Wu Yan, you shameless woman, come out!”
“You’ve embarrassed my elder brother enough!”
“And that slut, don’t stay in the room and not say anything, I know you’re there?”
Liu Mei quietly took a step back and tugged Qin Feng’s clothes.
“You go down first, I’ll handle this!” Qin Feng pushed her. Ever since his last fight with Chen Tianli, he knew that many people had guns. It was just that no one knew about it normally.
Turning the corner of the stairs, Qin Feng strode up, “You little brat, you didn’t even call me when there were dogs at the door!”
“Oh, right, she doesn’t have my number!”
“Who are you?” Yang Gang turned his head, holding a gun, and gestured at Qin Feng, “This has nothing to do with you, get lost!”
“Brother, are you looking for Qin Feng?” Qin Feng asked calmly.
“Yeah, do you know him?”
“Yes, he’s not home!” Qin Feng shook his head, “See, the door is blocked, how could he be home?”
“Uh, that makes sense, doesn’t it?” Yang Gang scratched his scalp. “But Chen Tianli’s brother said he lives here?”
“Oh, I see!” Qin Feng finally understood who had exposed him. He had only lived here for three to five months; no one knew him. If someone hadn’t led the way, they wouldn’t have found him so quickly.
“Then die!” Qin Feng said, pulling out his pistol and pulling the trigger at the men in front of him.
“Bang, bang, bang!” Three gunshots rang out.
“Ah!” “Ah!” “Ah!” Three screams followed.
Yang Gang held a gun in one hand, kneeling on the ground with one foot. He covered his chest and raised his head with difficulty, his face covered in sweat. “You… who are you?”
“I am Qin Feng!” After speaking, Qin Feng shot Yang Gang in the head again.
“Qin Feng, you’re back!” Wu Yan shouted from inside the room, her voice almost breaking into tears, “If you hadn’t come back, I would have been taken away!”
Qin Feng quickly collected the guns from the ground and stuffed them into his clothes. He suddenly turned around and saw Liu Mei standing at the top of the stairs, looking at him like a stranger, her face full of terror.
“Why can you shoot?”
“I always could!” Qin Feng put the gun into his space. He held another gun in his hand, pulled out the magazine, and glanced at it. The bullets were the same model as his own. This saved him the trouble of looking for ammunition.
“Oh my, you’re finally back, you scared me to death!” The door opened, and Wu Yan rushed out, hugging him, her expression very agitated. Wu Yan said as she climbed onto him, raising her legs to wrap around his waist, “Qin Feng, please, take me with you when you go out in the future, okay?”
“I don’t want to live a life of constant fear!” This scene stunned Liu Mei.
“You sure have a way with things, kid?”
“Oh, President Liu is here?” Seeing Liu Mei, Wu Yan quickly lowered her legs. She tidied her hair somewhat sheepishly, “President Liu, what brings you here?”
“There’s no President Liu, just a new temp!” Qin Feng glanced at the fidgeting Liu Mei, “Aren’t you coming up? Waiting for me to invite you?”
Liu Mei stomped upstairs angrily, glanced at the dead bodies on the ground, and stooped to enter the room. Inside, she scanned the surroundings. The room was quite clean, but the furniture was shabby and the walls were peeling.
In the middle of the room was an iron bucket with an iron pot on top, and a small stool nearby covered with bowls and chopsticks. Liu Mei felt a bit of sympathy.
“Qin Feng, I didn’t expect you lived in a place like this.”
“And you were still docking my pay!” Qin Feng reverted to his slacker persona, “You have no idea, I couldn’t even afford rent.”
“To save on water bills, I went to the company to use the toilet!”
“Every day going to work, my electric scooter often malfunctioned. The fines for being late could have bought a new one!”
“Why do you keep bringing that up?” Liu Mei seemed a little embarrassed, managing a weak smile, “I won’t live here anymore, right?”
“For a hundred yuan, what kind of conditions do you expect?”
“If you want to live in a good place, earn more points.” Qin Feng turned around, handed the gun in his hand to Wu Yan, “Go practice your marksmanship, you’ll need it later!”
“Huh? Then what about cooking and cleaning?”
“Someone will take over for you!” He then pointed at Liu Mei, “From now on, she’s responsible for cooking, cleaning, and washing panties!”
“I disagree!” Wu Yan spoke up first, “If I don’t do the work, where will the points come from?”
“From now on, I’ll practice shooting while I sweep and cook.”
“This is unbelievable!” Liu Mei crossed her arms, never expecting someone would fight her for chores like this.
